This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In a heartening display of solidarity, the UK's earthquake appeal for Turkey and Syria has garnered overwhelming support, surpassing £150 million ($191 million) in just six months. The tragedy struck on February 6, claiming the lives of at least 58,000 people across southern Turkey and north-west Syria.

The generous donations, totaling £151.8 million, are a testament to the compassion and empathy of people from all walks of life. The UK government's Aid Match scheme, contributing £5 million to the appeal, further amplifies the impact of individual contributions.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) proudly announced the milestone, expressing gratitude to the global community for stepping up during a time of great need. The funds raised will play a vital role in providing aid, rebuilding lives, and supporting affected communities on their path to recovery.
